Profile Bio:
I am part of the United Reformed Church Ministry Team in Sheffield. There are three of us looking after 11 congregations all across Sheffield.
I was asked to help set up a new pattern of Church leadership by the Yorkshire Synod of the URC which resulted in a new Team set up, which was pioneering for the denomination. Having spent a year (2014) doing that, I "put my money where my mouth is" and offered to be one of the leaders, a post I have held since 2015. The most enjoyable aspects of my ministry are preaching, Bible teaching, singing and playing guitar in worship and developing prayer/healing ministry.
I am Treasurer of the Yorkshire Synod of the URC and am passionate at seeing our increasing financial reserves being invested in evangelism and church-planting.
I am also part of the planning groups for both Sheffield Leaders in Prayer (SLIP) and Empower and am passionate about churches honouring each other and praying and working together in mission across Sheffield. I am also Trustee of a small Sheffield-based charity supporting poor communities in Nepal.
I am married to Judith and have a daughter Anita and, in the last 18 months, a grand-daughter Rowan! In my spare time I enjoy writing, cricket and opera, (singing principal roles for Dore Gilbert and Sullivan Society) and reading, especially history and current affairs. I have a huge interest in politics; my claim to fame is that I once stood for Parliament in the 2012 Rotherham by-election as an Independent and I did not embarrass myself! (come and ask!)
