Having been a teacher for 15 years I joined Dronfield Baptist as a Families, Youth and Children’s Worker in June 2016. My family and I had been worshipping at the church for the 3 years previous to my appointment. I have a passion for seeing children, young people and their families accepting Jesus and being built up in their faith. I can often be found causing happy chaos at our numerous children’s groups or trying to start Nerf fights with one of my youth groups. I head up the Life – Dronfield team and am married to the wonderful Becca and have two amazing boys, Nathanael and Malachi. Outside of church I’m an avid Tottenham fan and I still love skateboarding, though it seems with age, my knees have other ideas.

Matthew and his wife Catherine started the Sheffield West Filling Station back in 2021. God has given Matthew a heart for His people here in Sheffield. During the lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 Matthew and Catherine formed a prayer group with a number of others from the Dore and S17 communities and it was this group that grew into the Sheffield West Filling Station.

Rachel is the prayer ambassador for Together for Sheffield, an organisation who partners closely with The Filling Station here in Sheffield.
